Having a baby is a special and intense event. Every family has different needs for care and support. Natural maternity care provides care completely suited to you in the most natural way possible. For example:
In practical terms I take care of checks of mother and child, breastfeeding counseling, explanation of the baby care, daily household tasks and I prepare healthy meals.
When you give birth at home, of course you will be assisted by your midwife. At the same time I am available for assistance and maternity care during and after childbirth. I took a ‘Doula’ course with Beatrijs Smulders and have accompanied many births.
During the intake we can discuss what I can do for you.
The intake interview, the hours of childbirth assistance and maternity care are reimbursed by your health insurance. Depending on which insurance and additional insurance you have, you may or may not pay a small private contribution. Ask your insurance company what facilities are included.
The interview takes place around the seventh month of pregnancy. This can be done by telephone, but preferably I visit you at your home. During this meeting we can discuss all possible questions and look at your wishes around your delivery and maternity week.
My name is Charlotte Helena Goudsblom, I'm 29 years old and since I was 19 I have been working with mothers, fathers and newborn babies. After my maternity care training my job at The Birth Centre Amsterdam gave me an extensive experience with families from different cultures and I worked regularly with expats. I learned a lot at the Birth Center and really enjoyed it. Now I offer the most personalized care: private maternity care.
The most natural approach has my deepest interest. In that first important week after childbirth lots of attention is given to adherence, time to rest, building up breastfeeding and good care, also in the sense of healthy food, is essential to me.
I am a member of the Dutch Association for Maternity nurses and I regularly take courses in the field of nursing, first aid, childbirth assistance and nutrition.
For an informal appointment or to ask a question, you can always call or email me. When I'm working, I do not answer my phone. If your question is urgent, please send a message and I'll call you back as soon as possible.
